About RAAQUU Unique one of a kind ceramic pottery art pieces Almost 20 years ago, Adil was enamored with Raku pottery while undergoing a ceramics training program in Japan. He made a daring step to hone his expertise in all things Raku and the result of that decision led to the birth of RAAQUU. The brand RAAQUU is derived from the specialty firing technique that is used on each piece ; Raku. Raku ceramics are special because of the unpredictability of the raku firing technique. Raku firing is done in an extremely hot kiln and then removed while the ceramic piece is still red-hot or molten. Immediately after coming out of the kiln, the ceramic piece is then placed in a reduction chamber – usually a simple metal bin or container – filled with sawdust or paper. The extreme heat from the ceramic piece then ignites the combustible material in the reduction chamber, which is then sealed for a while. What happens inside the reduction chamber next is the key to the unique and unpredictable colors and patterns of each raku ceramic piece. At RAAQUU, every piece cannot be reproduced. This makes each piece a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art with its own story to tell. Decorative, Indoor Use and Not food safe Raku fired pottery uses a low firing temperature and thus, the resulting piece is not vitrified ( water proof ). All raku fired pieces do not store water and are not food safe. To overcome this, a simple cut plastic insert (not provided ) will function as a water holder that can be inserted into the vase for flowers. Because of the matte finish on the copper coating, the piece is porous and in not suitable for storage of food. Raku Copper Matte pieces must not be exposed to direct sunlight as it is meant to be kept for indoor display only. 5 Signature Finishes International Exhibitions Award Winning Decorative & Indoor use Art Series Oval Vase Omoide Urn Seicho Planter Pot Koban Vase Hana O mini vase Add to Cart Add to Cart Add to Cart Add to Cart Add to Cart Customer Reviews 4.5 out of 5 stars 3 — 5.0 out of 5 stars 1 4.3 out of 5 stars 128 5.0 out of 5 stars 1 Price $498.86$498.86 $337.18$337.18 $207.12$207.12 $95.73$95.73 $41.37$41.37 Height Approx 13.5 inches 10 inches 7 inches 7 inches 3 inches Serial Number ✓ ✓ no data no data no data Collection Art Series Art Series Basics Basics Minis Customisable? ✓ ✓ ✓ ✓ X
